Monarch Flight Terms
Monarch Airlines Airlines is a trading name of
Monarch Airlines Limited (company number 00907593 and registered
address Prospect House, Prospect Way, London Luton Airport, Luton
These Flight Terms apply to:
- all scheduled flights operated by Monarch Airlines;
- any Additional Services,
and all references to "us", "we", "our", and "Monarch" shall
mean Monarch Airlines and all references to "you" or "your" shall
mean you and each member of your booking party.
"Additional Services" means any products or
services purchased by you via this website which are provided by a
Third Party Provider, for example, Charter Flights or travel
"Air Navigation Order" means the Air Navigation
Order 2009 as amended, supplemented or replaced from time to
"Airport Authority" means the owner and/or
operator of an airport at which we operate.
"Airport Staff" a member of ground and/or
airport staff or an agent acting on behalf of us.
"APD" means United Kingdom Air Passenger Duty
which is an HM Revenue & Customs excise duty and/or any
equivalent government (United Kingdom or otherwise) tax levied
directly on Passengers.
"Baggage" means your personal property
accompanying you in connection with your trip. Unless otherwise
specified, it includes both your Hand Baggage and your Hold
"Baggage Identification Tag" means a document
issued by us solely for identification of Hold Baggage.
"Booking" means a booking made by you or on
your behalf for the purchase of a Flight, and/or the purchase of a
Flight and Additional Services, and which is accepted by us in
accordance with these Flight Terms.
"Booking Reference" means the 6 digit
alpha/numeric code and/or PNR
"Booker" means the adult of at least 18 years
of age who acts as agent for all Passengers in the Booking and
makes the Booking in their own name or in their name and other
Passenger's names, including a large number of Passengers, and who
undertakes the obligations set out in paragraph 3.10.
"Charter Flight(s)" is defined in paragraph
"Conditions of Carriage" means the conditions
set out in paragraph 4 of these Flight Terms.
"Confirmation Document" means the confirmation
page, email, text/SMS message and/or letter from us to you setting
out the details of your Booking and any special terms and
conditions applicable to your Booking.
"Convention" means whichever of the following
instruments are applicable:
- the Warsaw Convention 1929;
- the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague on 28 September
- the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague and by Additional
Protocol No.4 of Montreal (1975);
- the Montreal Convention (1999),
as supplemented by the Guadalajara Convention (1961) where
"Damage" includes death, wounding or bodily
injury to a Passenger and loss, partial loss, theft or other damage
to Baggage of whatsoever nature arising out of or in connection
with either carriage on a Flight we operate or other incidental
services performed by us.
"EC Regulation" means Council Regulation
2027/97 on air carrier liability in the event of accidents as
amended by European Parliament and Council Regulation No.
"Electronic Ticket" the electronic flight
coupon(s) issued to you and held in our computer database detailing
the particular places of departure and destination between which
you are entitled to be carried and any boarding document we have
issued to you.
"Fare" means the amount paid or to be paid for
the relevant Flight and may include additional fees, taxes and/or
surcharges (including fees for the use of a licensed third party
booking system), but excluding APD.
"Flight" means a single flight operated by us
from one airport to another airport.
"Hand Baggage" which is equivalent to cabin
luggage and includes all personal items taken onboard by you and is
any Baggage that is not Hold Baggage
"Hold Baggage" means Baggage of which we take
custody which is stowed in the aircraft hold and for which we have
issued a Baggage Identification Tag.
"IATA" means International Air Transport
"IATA Designator" means the two or three
characters or letters published by IATA which identify each
"ICAO" means International Civil Aviation
"ICAO Designator" means the three characters or
letters published by ICAO which identify each airline.
"Infants" means a passenger under two years of
age at the time of travel;
"Lead Passenger" means the name of the first
passenger in a Booking;
"MON" means the ICAO Designator for Monarch
"PNR" means Passenger Name Locater;
"Sales Desk" means either our sales desk or a
sales desk run for and on behalf of us at an airport;
"Special Drawing Rights" or
"SDRs" is an international monetary unit of
account (fixed by the International Monetary Fund ("IMF")), the
value of which fluctuates daily by reference to a basket of major
currencies used in international trade and finance as determined by
"Tariff" means the fares, rates, charges and
conditions applicable pursuant to these Flight Terms.
"Ticket" means, as applicable, your passenger
ticket and /or Confirmation Document or an Electronic Ticket and in
each case your Baggage Identification Tag issued to you by us, or
an authorised third party, and in e
